The mix of - and _ makes the text feel mechanical, but it’s actually easier to read than a block of letters jammed together. Consider this: my_notes:august-26_2025.txt → instantly clear, instantly sorted. The layering of symbols creates an almost rhythm: dash → underscore → colon → repeat. It’s like typography’s secret beat, hidden in plain sight.

Even in storytelling, these symbols sneak in. Imagine a journal entry marked like this:
